This special performance seamlessly blended English, Hindi, and Bangla with music, movement, and creativity, adapting the timeless classic 'The Pied Piper of Hamelin' for this year's concert.
The show masterfully wove storytelling, music, and dance, bringing the beloved folktale to life and showcasing the remarkable talent of the young performers. From the playful rats to the enigmatic Piper, each student brought their character to life with infectious energy and passion.
With vibrant costumes and engaging performances, this adaptation was a resounding triumph, leaving the audience utterly enchanted.
✨ Magic in the Air – Ankuran Show Time 2025 ✨
On 8th February 2025, The Heritage School auditorium came alive with Magic in the Air! A spectacular performance featuring 579 young stars from Ankuran 1, 2, and 3 showcased their diverse talents and abilities, leaving the audience in awe.
The story followed a kind-hearted witch and her loyal cat as they soared through the skies, making room on their broom for a friendly dog, an elegant flamingo, and a lively frog. Just when it seemed like their adventure was smooth sailing, the showstopper dragon made a grand entrance, adding thrill and excitement to the performance! The synchronized movements, humour, and enchanting moments kept everyone entertained, making it an unforgettable morning filled with laughter, wonder, and joy.

The Kolkata Book Fair is a paradise for book lovers, but today, on the final day of the twelve-day long fair, The Heritage Pavillion became a hub of artistic wonder! Young visitors of The Heritage School were in for a delightful surprise as their talented and beloved art teacher, Sanjoy Baishnab, sketched their portraits live—capturing their expressions with incredible speed and skill.
The excitement was palpable as the children watched their sketches come to life within minutes. Their joy was matched by the artist’s enthusiasm, making it a heartwarming experience for everyone present. It was a perfect blend of creativity, happiness, and inspiration—turning an ordinary visit into an unforgettable memory.
The in-person workshop of the U.S.-India Poem Project at the American Center on February 5 was an enriching experience for all THS students who attended. The participants, who had previously engaged in virtual sessions, had the unique opportunity to interact and learn first-hand from accomplished young poets. The session was filled with inspiration, creativity, and meaningful discussions, leaving students deeply moved by the power of poetry.
The presence of U.S. Poet Laureates, Kashvi Ramani and Stephanie Pacheco, made the workshop even more special, as their passion and dedication resonated with everyone. This workshop truly celebrated the art of poetry, cultural exchange, and the impact of words, making it an unforgettable experience for all.
Three students of The Heritage School, Rajveer Agarwal, Nirvan Dwary and Neerh Phukan, mesmerised the Kolkata Book Fair crowd on 4th February at The Heritage Book Stall, Stall Number 288.
Accompanied by their teacher, Kabir Chattopadhyay, they hosted a two hour long quiz contest on literature, music, society, history, art and more. A large crowd gathered to answer their questions, chat with them, browse the books, and win chocolates for prizes.
The tradition of children's quiz contests is as old as the Bookfair itself. However, having a quiz entirely planned and executed by middle school students was a feather in the cap of those who keep reminding us that children are truly the future. Participants congratulated the children on their fascinating questions, their efficiency, and their infectious energy.

The Heritage School students of classes 4, 5 and 6 participated in the Invitational National Inter-School Martial Arts Championship - 2025, and won awards and accolades. This event was held at the Orchid Arena on 23rd January, and was organized by Sportisa Association.

Twenty students and 5 staff members visited The Heritage School on the 30th and 31st of January 2025. Apart from getting to know each other, playing football, and having fun, the students worked on a collaborative project called PIE- Perception, Integration, and Environment.
A group discussion on these themes led to group presentations in the form of artwork, a collage, and bookmarks. This idea was conceived by Raima Shaw, a student of class 9, and she along with other students made a delicious, gigantic pie out of recycled material.
Fifteen students from The Heritage School participated in the 13Th Inter-School Tennis Tournament 2025 and won several accolades. It was held from 28th to 31st January and had events for girls under 14 years & over 14 years, and for boys under 14 years & above 14 years.
While the boys under 14 won the Gold medal, the boys over 14 won the bronze medal.

It was a moment of great pride when a class 5 student from The Heritage School, Shrivardhan Agarwal was awarded the gold medal of excellence in the EI Asset Exam level 2 which was held on November 2024. He scored above 95 percentile in all subjects, Maths, English, and Science.
He has also earned a full scholarship (worth 1.5 lakhs) for their 2 weeks residential Summer Program for Gifted children conducted by Genwise in Manipal University. He shall be attending it in the summer of 2025.
Atiksh Basak, a student of class 3 from The Heritage School, represented India in the UCMAS International Abacus competition held in New Delhi on the 14th and 15th of December 2024. Over 80 countries participated in the competition.
In this International Mental Arithmetic Visual competition, Atiksh has secured the 3rd Runner Up position and also received the Merit Award in the Mental Arithmetic Flash competition.
Divit Baid, a student of class 6 from The Heritage School, completed the Dayara Bugyal trek recently. He had participated in a trekking expedition to Dayara Bugyal, a beautiful meadow in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. This trek was a challenging yet rewarding experience which demonstrated his resilience and determination.
The Heritage School celebrated the 76th Republic Day on 26th January. The day started with the unfurling of the tricolour flag followed by the national anthem. The students and the teachers took a pledge thereafter. There were poem recitations, speeches, and patriotic songs.
The chief guest was Professor & Dr. D. K. Banwet who is the Emeritus Professor at IIT Delhi and also the founding VC of UEM University. He made an inspirational speech on the importance and spirit of India's Constitution, advising everyone to follow the teachings of Bhagwad Gita while following their dreams. He emphasized the unity in diversity as propagated by our constitution.
Mr. Vikram Swarup, Chairman - School Managing Committee, Mr. Pradip Agarwal, CEO - KBT, Prof. Dr. Basab Chaudhary- Principal of HIT, and several other dignitaries graced the occasion with their presence.
The renowned historian and author, William Dalrymple, inaugurated Kolaahal, a Biennial School Carnival, the day-long fair of fun games, exhibitions, and cultural program hosted by The Heritage School.
The Heritage School students of classes 7, 8, and 9 paid their humble tribute to the great leader, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on 22nd January in the school auditorium on the occasion of his 128th birth anniversary. The short yet enriching performance by the students made the audience know more about this great personality. The enactments of his "great escape", and how his bravery and intelligence were instrumental in bringing the much-awaited freedom to the people of India was applauded by all. The assembly concluded with the song, "Subhas Ji, Subhas Ji", praising and glorifying this great son of our Motherland India.
Shriyans Roy Choudhury, a class 6 student of The Heritage School, won a gold medal at the National Inter-School Martial Arts Championship 2025 which was held on 23rd January.
Twenty-five students from The Heritage School, Kolkata, had the opportunity to attend the Conclave on Mental Health at the Raj Bhavan, Kolkata.
The event commenced with the National Anthem, followed by the most interesting and inspiring address by the Honourable Governor of West Bengal, Dr C.V. Ananda Bose, which set the tone for the day’s meaningful discussions.
One of the highlights of the Conclave was the panel discussion titled "The Future of School Mental Health: A Multidisciplinary Conversation." Among the esteemed panelists was Ms. Seema Sapru, Principal of The Heritage School, who was specially invited for her expertise in holistic education. Joining her on the panel were Ms. Shruti Chatterjee, a Behavioural Therapist at The Heritage School, and Aniruddha Bandopadhyay, a student of the school; who brought unique perspectives to the conversation.
Another highlight of the Conclave was the cultural performance by the teachers and students of The Heritage School, who presented a captivating dance presentation on mental health. The performance, filled with meaningful expressions and thought-provoking messages, resonated deeply with the audience and earned appreciation.
The Heritage School International Block, Classes 6 to 12, successfully concluded its cricket tournament with four houses competing fiercely. Chanakya House triumphed as champions, defeating Aryabhatt House in the final. Dronacharya House secured third place, while Patanjali House finished fourth. Harshvardhan Bajoria was named Man of the Series for his exceptional all-round performance.
The Heritage School students of class 4 attended an interactive session with Ms. Vibha Batra, author of Kushti Kids at the Junior Kolkata Literary Meet - 2025 on 22nd January. The young author was in conversation with Ms. Swati Sengupta at the Meet which was organized by Coal India.
The author highlighted the importance of sports in the daily lives of children - be it boys or girls. She also laid emphasis on gender equality and women's empowerment in the sports arena.
The Heritage School students shone brightly by winning several accolades In the collaborative Inter-school Fest, Ullas - 2025 which was organized by South Point School on 17th & 18th January.
Vedant Chaudhuri, a class 5 student from THS, along with Dhritiman Ghosh from MBWA, and Debarjan Dey from BHS came first in Kwizwiz.
Archisaa Ray, a class 5 student of THS along with her team member from DPS Megacity clinched the first prize in Fun Minute, JAM.
Inaaya Roy, a class 5 student of THS along with her team member from MBWA won the second prize in Spin-a-Yarn.
Samhita Banerjee, a class 3 student from THS won a second prize in Tuli.
The Heritage School became champion in the President Cup inter-school Football Tournament. This tournament was organized by the Calcutta Veterans Club at Hare School from January 13 to 18.
THS defeated St. Augustine in the quarters, Hare School in the semis, and Jibreel International in the finals. The students showcased exceptional skill and teamwork to secure the championship.
Aagam Jain, a class 5 student of THS bagged a gold medal in KATA and a bronze medal in KUMITE in a Karate Championship. This was the 26th International Karate Championship held on 12th January wherein 5 countries had participated.
Yuvraj Modi, a class 1 student from The Heritage School, secured the Second Runnesr-up position in the SIP State-Level Competition.
To celebrate this outstanding achievement, the SIP personnel visited school to felicitate Yuvraj and present him with exciting prizes.
He received a cheque of ₹5,000, a hall ticket to compete at the Inter-State Level in Chennai on January 19, 2025, and airplane tickets for his parents and him to travel to Chennai.

Mann Jhunjhunwala, a class 5 student from The Heritage School, won a silver medal in 9 to 10 years Boys Kumite-30 Kg category, and a bronze medal in 9 to 10 years Kata category. He had participated in the 9th West Bengal Inter-School Karate Championship-2025 at South City International School on 12th January.
Rudra Agarwal, a student of class 1 from The Heritage School, won a gold medal in the 9th West Bengal Inter-School Karate Championship that was held at South City International School on 12th January.
The Heritage School students of Classes 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8 participated in Apeejay Literary Fest at Oxford Bookstore on 10th, 11th, and 12th January. They participated in interactive sessions with a wide range of authors like Dr. Madhurima Vidyarthi, Sutapa Basu, Satabdi Das, Nadia Imam, and Shabnam Minwala.
The younger students came up with novel ideas on wanting to capture evil in a capsule and sending it permanently away to some distant land and retaining only good for everyone. The senior students discussed stories based on mystery, adventure, and diverse genders. For all the participating students, it was an enriching experience to share their thoughts and experiences with renowned authors.
Bipaasha Paul, a THS student of class 9, was felicitated at the 9th West Bengal Inter School Karate Championship which was held at South City International School on 12th January 2025. She was felicitated there by the Principal of the school and other dignitaries.
The felicitation was done for her achievements at 11th Commonwealth Karate Championship held at Durban South Africa from 27th Dec - 1st Dec 2024. Bipaasha is the only player from West Bengal who had the opportunity to represent India in Elite Category and bagged Silver Medal apart from 2 Gold medals secured in the Commonwealth Club Division in Individual and Team Kata respectively.
Samriddhi Sharma, a class 4 student from The Heritage School, won a bronze medal in Kata in the 9th West Bengal Karate Championship 2025, held at the South City International School on the 12th of January 2025.
Angad Gupta, a student of Class 5 from The Heritage School, won a silver medal in Sparring at the 20th ITF Taekwando Championship that was held in Bardoli, Gujarat on 29th and 30th December.
He had won 1 Silver medal in Patterns and 1 Silver medal in Sparring in the International Martial Art Fest’24 championship earlier, which was held in Malda on 21st and 22nd September.
On 11th December, Cambridge International launched the ‘Young Pioneers’ and ‘Climate Quest’ programs at The Heritage School, Kolkata, under the banner ‘Voices for Vision – Voices of Students Driving Change.’
Schools from across India participated in the event, which began with a scintillating dance performance and a powerful declamation speech by the students of The Heritage School. They also performed a rendition of Jon Bon Jovi’s iconic song, “It’s My Life,” which further energized the audience.
Mr. Parikshit Sen, Regional Manager (Eastern South Asia) for Cambridge International, emphasised the importance of responsible production and consumption, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). He introduced the ‘Young Pioneer’, an entrepreneurship initiative by Cambridge University Press and Assessment in partnership with Get Set Learn and ‘Climate Quest’, a programme by Cambridge University Press and Assessment, integrating climate education into the curricula.
A dynamic panel discussion on climate action followed, with participants exploring sustainability and global collaboration. The event concluded with an engaging debate on the role of innovation versus sustainability.
Seven Kaushal students from The Heritage School enthralled the audience with a melodious group song when they participated in an Inclusive Winter Street Carnival at Noble Mission School on 15th December.
This event was aimed to create an inclusive platform where individuals of all abilities come together, share talents, and embrace the spirit of unity.
Bipaasha Paul, a class 9 student from The Heritage School, won one silver medal in the Elite Divison and two Gold medals in the Club Championship in the Commonwealth Karate Championship at Durban.
She had earlier won a Gold medal in Cadet Individual Kata in the Interzonal Karate Championship 2024 which was held in New Delhi on 13th December.
Anshul Mishra, a class 11 student of the Heritage School, won the IGU 123 All India Amateur Golf Championship recently.He won the prestigious championship on the 33rd hole of the round 4 and 3, to lift the 123-year-old iconic trophy.
Sana Chaudhary, a class 5 student from The Heritage School, was declared the third runner-up in the prestigious SIP International Abacus Prodigy 2024. She accomplished this feat amongst 3000 participants in her category.
Fifteen students from The Heritage School participated in a workshop on Linocut printmaking techniques on 13th December 2024. This was organized by Goethe-Institute / Max Müller Bhavan, Kolkata. Ms. Cäcilie Hoff, an illustrator from Berlin conducted this workshop in which the students learned to engrave their favorite characters related to the German Fairy tales on grey lino using linoleum cutters and later printing the same on paper using block printing ink.

All of the candidates passed the exam and were promoted to International Black Belt.
Selvi Mitul Shukla, a class 7 student from The Heritage School, came second in two races of the Kolkata District Speed & Artistic Skating Competition. She won 2 silver medals in this competition which was held on 17th November.
The Heritage School Learning Enhancement Program students from classes 6 to 8 participated in a unique chocolate-making and wrapping session recently. The hands-on experience sparked joy, creativity, and teamwork.
Ahana Budhia, a student of Class 1 from The Heritage School, took part in the District level (North 24 Parganas) Roller Artistic Skating Championship. She won 2 silver medals for free skating/ solo dance as well as for pattern dance in this competition which was held on 16th November. She has also qualified for the State level Championship which will be held soon.
Stavyah Jhunjhunwala, a student of class 1 from The Heritage School, participated in the district-level skating championship held at Bengal Shishu Udyan (BSU) and achieved an impressive second place and winning the silver medal.
The Heritage School students were felicitated on 7th January for their performance in the Geeta Shloka Chanting Competition. The prize distribution ceremony was held at the Jyotirmaya Club, Kolkata.
The Heritage School was happy to be a part of the Junior RJ Hunt contest organised by Fever FM & Radio One in association with Kreamz. The event started with a Sit and Draw Competition for all the students of classes 3,4,5 and 6 followed by the main RJ Hunt on stage.
It was a moment of great pride when Diya Bajaj, a class 5 student of The Heritage School, was awarded the "Best Effort" Trophy for her outstanding performance wherein her team secured second place in U-12 All Bengal Invitation Basketball Tournament - 2024.
Eleven students of classes 2 & 3 from The Heritage School, took part in the 9th National Level Painting Competition - Japan On Canvas. It was organized and conducted by Experience Japan with the theme being "Japanese Anime & Buddhism in Japan".
The Heritage School students of classes 4 & 5 thoroughly enjoyed a wide array of activities in the bagless week, which was conducted at the end of the academic session.
The Heritage School students of classes 6 & 7 attended an enriching workshop named "Sustainable Tales: A Storytelling Competition". It was held at Science City on 8th March, and was organized by Switch on Foundation.
The Heritage School students of IBDP 2 painted the walls of Suryakiran, an evening school for underprivileged children, that was started in 2006 by the Kalyan Bharti Trust.
The Heritage School IBDP students have an inauguration of the Visual Arts Exhibition 'Shilpider Rahasya' at 11.00am. It is an exhibit of the Visual Art students of IBDP students of May 2022-24 batch. The exhibition will be open on 20th & 21st March from 11am to 2pm.
After performing well in the Bhubaneswar AITA Championship series, Havish Bansal, a class 7 student of The Heritage School, secured the runners-up position in the Bengal State Championship under-16 category.
The Heritage School teachers took part in a special program dedicated to the great poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter, Rabindranath Tagore.
The Heritage School students of class 4, Gaurika Gupta and Avaneesh Churiwala, represented their school in Sports N Fun Skating Championship. The event was held on 28th January wherein Gaurika Gupta won a gold medal in Inline Category while Avaneesh Churiwala came third.
The Consul General of the People's Republic of China held an exhibition of paintings by The Heritage School students on the "Silk Route." This exhibition was held on 16th January at St. Joan's School Salt Lake, which saw an active participation of the students and parents from classes I to 11.
The following children of Class 3 have won in the second round in SIP Arithmetic Genius All India Inter School Contest 2023 and has been selected to participate in the State round.

Shelf Back, the Heritage School Book Club, in collaboration with the students of Class 6, organised a "Secret Santa." Old books were exchanged and gifted anonymously among the students, and the Senior School Library was decorated with posters, ribbons, and a bookshelf "Christmas Tree."

In a groundbreaking collaboration, Global Threads (a student -run initiative of The Heritage School) teamed up with THS GIRL UP (an initiative of the United Nations Foundation )to make a meaningful impact through sustainable fashion.
Krishiv Rathi, a class 4 student from The Heritage School, won gold medals in both Sparring and Patterns in AOI International Championship. Several countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, UAE, Ghana, India and others had participated in this competition.
The Heritage School students of classes 7 & 8 participated in an Inter-School Science Festival "Relativity Fest" that was hosted by LA Martiniere for Boys. The students took part in various categories and won prizes.
